Advice for Ranking Longtail Sites

I'm wondering what the best way to go about ranking a auto-age generated site would be? I'm not trying to snipe specific keywords as much as rank for many more obscure ones by throwing out lots of pages. I'm actually cloaking these pages over to a money site.
Seems like high pr links of any kind would be helpful...
But what would be the best way to use GSA SER for this kind of site? Should I just build a huge tier at the home page? Or should I make a tier 1 that spreads links to the sitemap of the site?
