one of the better link guides out there all free as well neil is one of the leaders in the SEO industry ex blackhat too.
good read, take note of the page rank funnelling method i've been using that combined with GSA to some moderate effect.
quality will always trump quantity but the problem is quality / whitehat links are very hard to automate. that's why i'm a big fan of GSA, it's relatively automated once you set it up. but GSA is a quantity game vs quality and i've definitely noticed over the years esp. post penguin 2.0 strategically going down the quantity game seems to have diminishing returns.
