%NAME% to Use Same Name in Macro As In Email

edited April 2013 in Need Help
I'm just reviewing some links and am noticing.

If I use %NAME% in author bio it's different to the name used in the email if you use

%spinfile-names.dat%{.|-|_}%spinfile-lnames.dat%@domain.com

How do I get these to get matched up?

So at least the email address matches the Name that is used?

just use the %spinfile-names.dat% macro instead of %names% and it is using the same as in email.

Can someone else check this too?

even using %spinfile-names.dat% in my author bio, it's given me different names to my email when I use the macro.

Let me guess....it's for the TEST ?

    Yes. :-)

@Sven - when inserting the name on a form, if I use %spinfile-names.dat% is this the same one as email:

    I.e. Name: Alex
    Email: alex@catchall

    About ME:

Hi I'm Alex and I like SER!

To do the above I just use %spinfile-names.dat% wherever I need the same name?

    When should I use %NAME%?

Can anyone assist here? Doing some big changes today and want to ensure I use the correct macro. Thanks. :-)

%name% is the same as using %spinfile-names.dat% beside tha fact that %name% is not keeping previous content in mind.
  • AlexRAlexR Cape Town
@sven - does %spinfile-names.dat% keep previous content in mind?

I.e. if I want it to use the same name in 4 places, then I use %spinfile instead of %name% right?
  • SvenSven www.GSA-Online.de
Thats what I said in my previous post yes ;)
  • AlexRAlexR Cape Town
Gotcha...seems counterintuitive that a spin keeps content but the %name% mixes it up. ;-) Now I know.
