email verification question

Some time ago I had noticed that GSA hasn't been keeping up with verifying emails as quickly as they accumulate in my inbox. I'm using a catch-all email on my own server.

Today I noticed that my GSA projects were generating messages indicating that there were over 500k emails in the queue, and when checking my server I saw the email account had grown to ~3GB.

After allowing several projects to run for an hour doing nothing but verifying emails, my "verified" column was only showing an additional 4 links, so I decided that it was verifying so few links that this was a waste of time. I simply deleted all of the emails by logging into my server via shell and manually deleting the account folders containing those messages.

Somehow, despite all of the emails having been deleted from the server, GSA is still reporting that it is parsing emails i.e. "Parsing 100/502399 E-Mails. . ."

Why is it doing this and how can I get it to stop?

Yes,SER's mailbox to verify that there are many problems.Many types of messages it can not verify.I also hope that the GSA can further improve in this area

So you say you deleted the emails and SER is still accessing it? If it loged into your account before you deleted them manually, it still sees all the emails. You have to stop it, delete and start again.

Anyway people have reported such "problems" many times. Every time I checked it turned out not to be a problem of the program. I don't know how to help without logs or project backups here.

@Sven I deleted the wrong account, that is why it was still accessing the emails.

I don't see why it should be an issue here. As long as you see it logging in to your account and sometimes get some verifications done there (watch log), there should be all ok.

I am using a catch all email address on one domain. I'm running several projects from the one domain.

Should I check "Delete all messages"?

I'm seeing results like below in the log. GSA appears to be logging into the catchall account and parsing every message for every email used.

If you use the email for more than one project, it should not delete all messages. Set it to delete messages older than 5 days or so. This should be safe.

I'm having trouble with verification also. I'm getting endless verification failed (SEE BELOW).

Any ideas on this? The emails are working. The program APPEARS to be working, but it keeps endlessly trying to verify this 1 URL. Also, I have had 105 submitted and only 27 verified for over a day now with no change.

Thats not a problem at all...as you have your project set to verify only, you get of course a lot "not successful" messages as it is only checking if the URL you submitted is there.
