E-mail verification after STEP

Hello all!  I have an engine where I need to verify a link by email after submitting with [STEP]. Is there a way to do this? Does Ser only perform an email verification after [REGISTER_STEP*] or can I make it perform an e-mail check whenever?

    In theory it can do that also on submission steps. Though it was never required till now so I can not really tell if that works.
