Scraping Question: Footprints PLUS KWs Or Just Footprints?

I remember Scrapebox had a feature to do KW X Footprint.
So if you had 2 footprints and 2 KWs you'd get:
Footprint 1 + KW 1
Footprint 1 + KW 2
Footprint 2 + KW 1
Footprint 2 + KW 2

Is this necessary? Don't you lost a lot of potential targets you can use for other projects by doing this?
Is it better to just use the footprints without KWs in searches??

I am only now beginning to try undertaking scraping with any real attention. I just have no clue. So, I have many questions! :yum:

  • It's better to use keywords with your searches. Adding keyword leads to different results with every search.

It's not just keywords you can add. It could be tld's, numbers, or even different version numbers of cms. Any variation will return different results. Using keywords in foreign languages also yields different results.

This should be fun. I am actually amazed it took me this long to get interested. I did use the GSA SER Footprint Studio toolset fairly recently for the first time and actually found a couple of recurring phrases that were helpful.
I did want to buy a list to help with footprints. I know many on here say scrape your own lists, but other lists can help you in that regard, it seems. At least at first?  What about using lists on your site? Bad idea?  What about at Tier 25?!  :|  lol seriously, tho..

This may seem like a silly question, but how do you create a list of (KWs * Engines) that has all the permutations on different lines?  Even just a single KW plus many engine-associated phrases! How is this done? Thanks again.

"single KW plus many engine-associated phrases!"
    ok..I found a way....
I am just doing one KW at a time in Notepad++ Find: \r Replace:  ∧∧"KW"\r
and that works and I can just copy paste, CTRL-Z and do the next KW and repeat.

I like to add negative keywords and stopwords to footprints, eg. "my footprint" -them, "my footprint" -this, "my footprint" -casino

Anecdotally I've found that searches with negative keywords seem to eke out a lot more unique urls. At least they did until the bloody num=100 nerf :(
