Issue with Target URL Settings: Still Loading from Verified Lists (v18.06)

Hi,

We’re encountering a strange issue in GSA Search Engine Ranker (version 18.06) and hope someone can help us resolve it.

Here’s the situation:

• Under project options, in the "How to get Target URLs" section, we have not selected any options. Specifically, we did not check "Use URLs from global site lists if enabled."
• Upon saving the project, we receive a warning alert:

  "No search engine was chosen. This will not generate new backlinks (unless you import target sites on your own) and only verify links."

• This behavior is expected. However, when we start the project, the Status messages pane shows that the project is still loading from lists (we believe these are our verified lists).

Our goal is to stop this behavior and only import our own custom WordPress target lists.

Does anyone know why this is happening or how to ensure the project uses only the imported list?

We’ve attached three screenshots to clarify the settings and issue. Your guidance would be greatly appreciated!

No, this is not from site list...that would have been written in log.  The URLs can come from other verified URLs and your option to submit there again.

Hi Sven, thank you for your swift reply and clarification! It’s great to know that the URLs are coming from other verified URLs.

Is there a way to configure GSA SER so that a specific project uses only the imported list and doesn’t rely on logs or verified URLs from other projects? This new project is constantly submitting new urls although we did not import any lists.

We want to maintain a clean setup for this project and avoid any unintended overlaps with data from other projects. Your guidance would be greatly appreciated!

If you disable the option to use scheduled posting, it will then only use the URLs you import.

Hi Sven, thanks again for the quick reply! Actually we did not allow scheduled posting. We also created another new project: no engine selected, no site lists, no scheduled posting, but the result is the same: this new project loads lots of urls from our site lists. Not sure why. We may try to intall an old version(V17.96) to see what will happen. Here are two screenshots:

schedule posting will post to only urls you import , it does not fetch any urls on its own. unless 1 of 3 above is enabled.
