How do I edit/add advanced macros

In project settings, in the "advanced macros" tab, I only see 2 ready-made macros but no option to add new ones or edit the script.

The docs say that I can create as many advanced macros as I like, but I don't see an option.
Please help. Thanks a lot.

    This is actually possible but by editing or adding external files int he advanced_macros folder. Just have a look at the files there and modify/Add as you like.

    This may be silly, but how do they work? What can I achieve with an advanced macro?
