I have added new site lists already. It just needs proper testing which hopefully is finished next week (maybe monday). With that you can already define multiple site lists, define if its read only or not and use different types per project. All with a nice GUI and many options.
I took the whole week rewriting a lot of the code so it is now time to test all again before releasing it.
Thanks, @Sven. That new design looks nice; I can't wait for it to be pushed out.
The current custom site list has a problem because it does not load any URLs from the selected custom site list. I have sent you a private message with a video showing the issue and access to 2 different VPSs where you can see the problem.
@royalmice OK thanks, but this is probably fixed already as I have rewritten this whole part. However, it's to early to release the update now, even though there is no issues by now. But this took me a week and I know in a week I probably do a lot bugs as well

@Sven I've just checked yesterday and my project cannot load URLs from custom site lists. Seems that it has not yet worked in the latest 18.03 update
The project setting "User Defined" in site list is using that exclusively. If you want it to use Identified/verified/submitted/failed in addition, you need to enable it int hat list as well.
What is the purpose of this? Are people really separating site lists based on niche themed websites to use for different projects in different niches? That doesnt seem to apply to link types like this but maybe im mistaken.
Whats the difference in sorting links out like this vs just selecting different engines to use per project to get the type of links you want, but all pulling from the same general link list weve accumulated?

Yes, Some people do targeted link-building and post to specific niche-relevant sites.
The links you usually buy are general lists from thousands of niches, different languages, etc., so the links you build with those are not as relevant and have low value in Google's eyes. For example, you might be promoting how to wash a dog - but you are building a backlink on a site about internet marketing. The link will not be relevant. But if you posted to a site about dogs, then it would be a relevant link and have more SEO value.
People have lists specific to a niche they are promoting and want to post to. Some people promote many different niches. So now, they can add all that list to GSA ser and select which one to use when they create a project.

When selecting engines \ platforms, it just tells GSA SER what platform to use. You don't magically get the links then. You still need to specify a link list so GSA and GSA SER will then check the specified list and use the links if they are from a platform that you indicated you want to post to. If you don't have a link list then GSA ser will scrape using the search engines you specified.
no, you can check/uncheck the other and define the list again.
however the "user defined" is making more sense really. i had to leave the other in for compatibiliy reasons.
None of the engines besides blog comments are working with this new site list function. Im getting "Loaded 0/0 URLS from Site Lists". I have huge site lists, this shouldn't be happening. I've tried all the different sitelist functions inside the options tab in the campaign including User Defined. I've rebuilt the campaigns from scratch, nothing seems to be working. Can you please advise what to do???
Seems that it does not work for me, too. The number of threads decreased significantly when using User define. When I switched back to the Identified, Submitted, Verified and Failed folders, it worked well again and the threads increase to 150 but only for a short amount of time. Then I needed to import all the URLs to the project to make it work again
I am also experiencing this @sven -- i have tried both Other and User defined list but i am not getting a single verified link when using User Defined.

I have a question - have send you a private message
If we want to only use a specific custom site list, then we need to use user-defined.

Hope that makes sense
