Backlink Monitor

edited September 13 in Other / Off Topic
So I need something to track my backlinks from all different sources (not just GSA) that is on the cheaper end. I saw a couple of helpful members here post about the backlink monitor by inspyder. It is pretty old and isn't kept up to date, but I bought it after using the trial. I like it, but the software can't find my backlinks on many sites due to JavaScript/delayed loading issues, etc. I tried messing with the settings enabling javascript etc. and it still won't pick them up.

Does anyone using this tool have any ideas or have you found something that works?

Thank you!

Also @Sven this would be a great program if you could make a working one ;)

    It's definitely a great tool that unfortunately is no longer developed. I'm not sure if many SEO's understand the value in a tool such as this, but I couldn't build live tiers without it. A big reason to the success I have in rankings is due to using backlink monitor as part of my strategy.

    Hopefully @Sven considers developing such a tool as there is no other competing product for it. The verified link checking system is already built into GSA SER, but I'd prefer having a standalone tool to manage, store and check my tiered links.

    If you need access to the software, I'd be happy to provide my license for it. I did make a detailed video on the software and it's features 12 years ago:

    I'm sure if Sven got behind this tool, he would make the "ferrari" of backlink management softwares with a ton of never ending features! lol

    Indeed I have something like that on my to-do list. I didn't know that there is no competition so it might indeed something good.
    My vision was (without checking anything else), to just give it all kinds of URLs and it will build a tier structure automatically. Like link1 is pointing to link2 and so on.
    Of course it would monitor things as well.
    I would need to know what else is needed here.

    I think this thread is going into the same direction: https://forum.gsa-online.de/discussion/28198/why-not-create-a-backlink-checker/p1

    Yes!! I researched it heavily and can only find websites offering monthly "backlink checking" but their main product is keyword tracking and the tools are pretty expensive.

    If you created this tool i'd sell the shit outta it on other SEO forums ;)

    Other things would be having the ability to add notes for each baclink, ex. account login info, proxy used? Maybe even have the option to auto login aka we set the login page and with a click of a button it will launch a browser and auto fill our login credentials for that site (also while using the set proxy). Having the program check if the backlink is indexed in Google (with proxies ofc) would be cool too.

    Edit: also categorize the link: no follow/do-follow etc.

    I don't see the business case for another tool. Semrush does it for T1, Scrapebox does it, BS4 does it. Use a 15yo Python script or write your own.

    I see your perspective. I haven't messed with python in a decade, and I don't think i'd have the time right now to pick it up/learn it again. It's much easier to buy a program haha.
  • @backlinkaddict

    With SER not processing JS targets, I wonder what JS links you want to check at all.

    1/ Semrush out of the box

    2/ Scrapebox Standard Add-On

    3&4/ BS4/Python
    from selenium import webdriver
    from bs4 import BeautifulSoup

    driver = webdriver.Chrome()
    driver.get("http://beardconstruction.com/")

    page_source = driver.page_source

    soup = BeautifulSoup(page_source, 'html.parser')

    # …

    Another example of people needing this. Someone just posted in a large FB SEO community that he made a google doc to check backlinks for clients: https://i.imgur.com/kPSxSap.png
