Guestbooks, better yes or better no?

Hi everyone.

I was once told not to submit projects to Guestbooks because it was better that way. But I noticed that Guestbooks are the ones that place the most links, and also dofollow. In your opinion, is it worth selecting guestbooks, or better not? And if so, how many and which ones do you recommend?
