Which Setting Defines when to check mails for verify?

Hello, i want to set a fixed time when it does the verification so its not doing it too frequently.

Is it the setting under mail settings: Time to wait between 2 logins?
or is it the setting unter options tab: When to verify below Verified Links must have exact url?

Its currently set to automatically.
