Why GSA lowers thread count while running ?

I've been using GSA for some time and i have noticed GSA runs on max threads when I run it on multiple projects instead of a single project. I don't drip-feed links with link lists or scrape the same thing.

Is that normal?

Normal as some operations can only run on single thread like email checking.
