Submitted URLs so many old

While reviewing verified URLs, I took a look at the list of submitted URLs.
I was under the impression that there was an automated process to clean out old ones where the 'awaiting confirmation email' might never arrive which is common.

I had URLs in there over a month or more old.

Is there some setting I need to activate to better clean out all this old trash?

    This happens automatically, however, there is a project option that would not remove such links. Maybe you have turned it on?

    OK nothing obvious to me.

    Just in case this happens to anyone else, I'm reporting back on this.
    No idea why it happened except for my fat fingers clicking something wrong 
    Anyways, I clicked 'Show URLs' across all projects for Submitted items.
    Then Selected a date range for older than the last 3 days and Deleted Selected leaving the last 3 days worth.
    It's been good ever since, with GSA SER taking care of business.
