  • I did this a month ago, just copy the GSA global lists and also all the files in the SER application data directory.  When you reload SER it should load up all your old projects.

i link this directory to my dropbox folder using dropboxifier (it's free: http://dropboxifier.codeplex.com/)

so that all my GSA data files are backed up to the cloud automatically.

if you get advanced and start modifiying engines you need to backup your egine files as well which are in the program files directory of SER
  • So you mean i get all the projects which are running on gsa get backup and reloaded if i do what you have said above? So i don't need to enter new email or anything elseo on my proejtcs?
  • right click - modify project - backup all..

then upload it on your dropbox account

at the new vps, right click - modify project - restore..

    Done...
  • Thanks Darman82 for this and it worked fine for me
  • how do i backup everything in order to keep:

    1. all my settings/projects

    2. all my sitelists
  • 1. Just backup all and it save all your project setting
    2. To backup sitelists, use Options - Advance - Tools - Export site lists - choose what site list you want to export. Then at your new VPS, choose import site list. Done...
  • Thanks! much appreciated :]

You can always ask your VPS provider to set up an FTP for you.

Although darman82 already gave what is in my eyes a sufficient explanation on how to do this, is seems some people would like an even easier to follow set of instructions. I created a couple of short videos on this topic, check this post http://sertips.com/how-to-transfer-your-copy-of-gsa-sercomplete-with-global-site-listsprojects-to-a-new-server/.
