Links in the target list

When I import links into a target list, I can add links to internal pages of sites or a link to the main page. Does it matter? Is it enough just a domain to submit in any engines?

For example, comments to articles will be added if there is only a link to the main page of the site or a link to the article is needed?

    Most engines will accept any page, but some like guestbooks or blog comments will need the exact page .
