So many .ru sites?

When I run the indexer for a root domain, PR>=3, full mode it seems that a majority of the ping sites are .ru domains. Is this intentional? Is there a way to exclude .ru TLD?

2260 out of 3883 ping sites were .ru domains in my last run.

I used it to index my real website domain, hope that will not hurt it
