What Is The Difference Between Forum Comment and Blog Comment?

DeeeeeeeeDeeeeeeee the Americas
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How should I approach them differently when creating content?

Thanks!

Forum-Comment is maybe not the correct term. It should be Forum-Thread-Reply.

OK; that's what I had initially thought but then wasn't sure.

    Thanks, Sven!

Sven, how should we differ in our approach to writing each?

Also, anyone know suggested word length?

A Forum comment is usually related to the topic or the one replied previously to it.
A Blog comment is based on the article.
In the end it is not much of a difference.

OK, so then, just to be absolutely sure: A forum comment is a reply to an EXISTING thread, and not a NEW thread?

hmm no, a new thread is opened but only if you enable the "link type" "forum-post".

I have had that link type disabled. In that case, Sven, is a link within a thread just placed as a forum comment instead? Thanks! :)

no, it's ignored then and not used. Most forum engines create a profile post only. That real thread one is not part of every forum engine and not widely tested as well. I added support for it when creating the engine but later never expanded it for other forum types of that same engine.

OK, Sven,  thank you for the clarification. I really appreciate it!! :)

So, I don't have to concern myself with forum comment field then!
