dropbox site list issues

So I'm using a site list with drop box that requires me to set it for one or more of my 4 site lists in options, and uncheck the option to create the list so I'm just reading it. then in the options of each individual campaign i can select it with "use urls from global site list if enabled". However my dropbox keeps complaining about space implying I've been writing to it. I don't understand this since I unchecked the lists in global options and they shouldn't be writing to it at all. It's even saying it when all the campaigns have been stopped for over a day that I've been trying to write to it constantly. Any idea why this is happening and how to fix it?

You have an option called "don't add" in the project next to the site list as source. Just enable that one in projects and keep site list options globally enabled.
