Importance of VPS Internet speed?

I'm currently using a VPS with a connection speed of 250 Mbps.

If I'm using the same proxies, would upgrading to 10Gbps make a big difference, or is it much more to do with the proxy speed?

    the proxy speed would still be limited to the bandwidth of your VPS.

    Do you mean the VPS would be limited by the proxy speed?

    So if I upgrade the VPS, the process could still only go as fast as the proxies?

    Both...the end speed is the slowest of either the VPS or the proxy.

    If a proxy test from within the software displays as 0.422 how fast is that compared to the VPS speed measured above?

    you can't compare that really. However 0.422ms from sending the connect packet to the reply.
