Proxy Settings

edited March 2013 in Need Help
Is it advised to add public proxies for PR checking, and then set all other proxy settings to private only?

Don't want to slow down things unnecessarily.

Thanks.

PR filters are rubbish. ron and LeeG wrote a bachelor thesis about that..
if you want, do PR filtering with gscraper/scrapebox BEFORE GSA
  • Ok thanks for that.

I thought it was a Doctoral thesis, but that's ok, I appreciate the compliment. :)
  • @Ron or @thisisalex - Is there a thread explaining the new global proxy settings?

    Thanks,
    George

There is none. I would uncheck public on submission and verify for sure. You don't want to trust crappy public proxies for those tasks.
  • Please note that you need to mark your private proxies as private so GSA SER will know they are private.

To do that, select the private proxies -> right click "Toggle Private/Public" then you will have an 'x' on the 'private' column on the right.

Do you guys use your private proxies for 'Verification' ?
I am thinking of not using any proxies for 'Verification'. Is this a bad idea?
  • @Tropics, thanks for the tip, I missed that.
  • @Tropics did you ever try this?

I was thinking I might try this
