Insert additional links (from project) - inserts duplicate links?

edited March 2020 in Bugs
Hi @sven,

I'm not sure if this is working as intended (don't think so?), but, when you use "Insert X additional links from project," SER will sometimes re-insert the same link (domain) inside the same article (using the same anchor as the first instance).

Meaning, it doubles up links to a certain domain instead of making all the additional links unique, i.e., X random (unique) links per entry.

Is this supposed to happen? Note: This is on actual submission, not only in preview mode.

    It tries to use a different item from that project input box. Do you use duplicates in there (e.g. same url, different anchor)?

    Nope. I have, say, 5 URLs in the project, all with spun anchors in this format:
    https://www.url1.com/#{anchor1|anchor2|anchor3}
    https://www.url2.com/#{anchor1|anchor2|anchor3}
    https://www.url3.com/#{anchor1|anchor2|anchor3}
    https://www.url4.com/#{anchor1|anchor2|anchor3}
    https://www.url5.com/#{anchor1|anchor2|anchor3}

    For "Insert additional links," I choose random between 2-4. 4 being the highest as there are 5 URLs and it should, in theory, be the selected URL + the other 4.

    But on many occasions, it duplicates one or more of the URLs and inserts them again (using the same URL/anchor combo - exact same, even though the anchors are spun) in a different part of the article.

    I would almost call it a "cache insert" as it's remembering the URL/anchor combo and re-inserting it. The duplicate URL/anchor combo seemingly always outputs the same anchor that was previously used, even though it's a large spin of various anchors (i.e. no way it could be randomly adding the same anchor without being cached).

    I had a look at the source and I can not reproduce it at all. The links inserted are explicitly other than the first one...Can you send the project backup + link where it appeared?
  • I'm facing same problem, any tips how to fix this?

    should have been fixed long time ago no?
