(Newb) - Can you use proxies with PS to scrape for proxies?

Hey,

I've just started using SB and just got PS. 

I know in SB it allows you to use proxies when scraping for proxies and I wanted to know if it's possible to use proxies for PS.  I'm running it now on a VPS and I've gone thru some of the threads here about it getting the IP banned and such.  

I'd like to avoid that if possible. 

Kinda a real newb question but I just want to run it the most efficient way and not risk bans on my primary IPs.  Any advice or guidance on a setup that would be optimal for this would really be appreciated.
