Is it better to install gsa in documents/main hd vs dropbox?

I've done bothe ways before but didn't really use it much or pay attention, plus had an old laptop vs my new juiced up one. Will installing it in dropbox slow it down or cause potential lag/syncing issues or anything else problematic? Or should I do a direct install to documents or wherever it wants to auto install by default and then just pull/send files/lists into dropbox for safekeeping in case of errors or hd crashes or whatever?
