%random_article%

Morning @sven,

Does the %random_article% macro work from the articles that are currently loaded into the project including the title and stuff or is it just the article body?

I checked the macro guide but it doesnt have an explination, just a mention on another macro.

That macro will do a search on sites defined in content_search.dat with a keyword from the project and will use a found article from there and post. However this macro is usually not used but this:

@Sven is there a macro to pull the content from the body section of one of the articles already loaded into the project? Or do you know of any other way to do this rather than going through 50 kontent machine outputs and pulling the article bodies from them?

If it is not currently possible would this be hard to implement? Or perhaps have a setting do the projects "About Youtself" and "Forum Comment" areas can pull their data automatically from the content in the body of the loaded articles in the projects?

I have toyed with this idea in the past as it essentially provides an added number of contextual type platforms but the duplicate content stacks up crazy quickly if you only put one spin in these areas.

%article% will use a random article.
You can however also use %spinfolder% macro from a folder where that is stored.

Just tested the %article% macro and it works perfectly .

Spinfolder wouldent work as the text files have a bunch of other data in them too for other fields.

With the %article% macro does it use the same settings on the article page or just put the text in the field? For example say add 0-2 images and 1-3 authoity URLs?

It will also put the images/videos/links it it but then again remove e.g. links/images if the field you use it in does not support this.
