How to service GSA ser

I heard someone say, its very good to clean your GSA ser once a month..
can someone please explain? how do i service GSA ser, clear out trash and make it work smoothly?

    There are a few ways to list purge, the first is the in built tool but it is a little in reliable for a few reasons. I preffer to just put the list back through SER and rebuild my verified list. I do this each month as a minimum, usually weekly.

    There is also project servicing such as new content/emails and target URL history/cache maintenance but that it goal dependant.
