Can We Have GSA SER Accept Unicode Text Files in Macros

Some programs are outputting unicode text files and I don't always see when this happens. Is it possible for SER to recognise unicode as a .txt file format?

Also I get people to work on files, and sometimes they don't set it to ANSI or UTF, but leave it on unicode and I often don't see the bug until weeks in.

    It accepts unicode already.

Since when? It was yesterday that I resaved many files from unicode into ANSI. After saving them they showed up in the test window.

Does test window read macros that pull up unicode files?

yes, unless it's no unicode but other encoded stuff.

I just tested it again. I took an article body that was in ANSI check in test window and it showed fine.

Opened in notepad, went save as "unicode".

Then checked in test window and article wouldn't show.

Placed back in ANSI and it worked again in test window. .

Using "%spinfolder-PATH% to get article body.

wait I mixed unicode with utf8 ... unicode text files are not supported...and Im not about to add it as checking/converting might take to much time

OK - thanks. Maybe in the future if you have some time you can add it. I have no idea how hard it is to add.
I'm sure there will be many more users who have unicode files that get generated and used and wonder why
they get a blank test field.
