How does the Wildcard matching work?

Hi there,

just wanted to ask how the wildcard matching works and if it is recommended to turn that on?
Thanks in advance.

Certain engines use it for detection, but it is more heavy on CPU. If you want to have the highest detection you would turn deep matching and wildcard on, but its going to use more resources.

The majority of engines don't seem to use it so it shouldn't make too much difference.

     Hi @s4nt0s

I am still not clear on what EXACTLY the wild card does. I can see it is super heavy on CPU resources.
Could you explain in more detail what exactly does the wild card option do.

    Thanks

@royalmice: If you open blogspot script, you will see the line: ;url must have=*.blogspot.*/*

It's just enabling "*" wildcard so it properly follows that * rule. It uses more resources so we made it an option since not all engines use it.
