Download Error

edited February 2013 in Need Help
Hi

Can anyone suggest why I'm getting a lot of download failed errors. I am using high quality private proxies from squidproxies. I just tested them and out of 25 gsa said 22 were working at that specific point in time yet i'm still getting errors. My html timeout is 150 and im only running 100 threads. I have a high speed (UK) internet connection of around 60Mb so that shouldnt be an issue.

I used to be able to run at 200 threads no problem.

Any help appreciated.

If you see what URL failed in the log, I would use that one in browser and test it against proxies. Maybe it is just an issue on some URLs with the proxy?
  • No - i am opening them in my firefox browser and they are all working fine.

So check them against your proxy. Have a look for a unique string on the source of these URLs and use it to test your proxy.
  • Hi Sven

I don't understand what you are talking about with strings. What i do know is that all of my proxies test out and they work. I open the links shown as not downloadable and they open in the browser.

I am very worried as my success has dropped from around 10,000 links per day to around 1,500.

Do you want me to submit a support ticket somewhere or send some error logs. As far as i am concerned this is not a proxy issue but im open for you showing how i have misunderstood.

Oh well send me some login data in pm and I have a look myself.
  • Sven - your answers aren't exactly encouraging me that you are taking this seriously. If its a language barrier then i apologise but quite frankly your responses seem to indicate you don't give a sh*t and that i am somehow a drain on your time.

What exactly do you mean by login data?

Do you mean log data? If so would you like to be specific about what you require? I am a user not a techie.

He's just asked for you to send him in a PM access data to your machine to check what's wrong with your setup. Why so angry, techie or not!???

@backlinker it's no language barrier. Every once in a while people come here with a error/bug which turns out to be a fault of the user in fact. Im not saying it is the case here but the fact that your proxies don't work doesn't mean there is a bug in the software. Until now there was no bug in the software when it comes to proxy testing or usage. Never! So yes Im thinking the error is on your end.

All I said in my post was "Ok I will fix it for you, or try to fix it". Though thats not my job fixing other people's setup all the time. You don't pay me for support, the software is a one time fee, always keep that in mind.

Sven - with regards proxy testing. Your software checks the proxies and tells me every single one of them is working correctly. If they are passing your own designed proxy check in the proxy management then why would they not work in the actual software.

"Ok I will fix it for you, or try to fix it" --- Thank you. What i am asking you is to tell me exactly how you want to fix it and what information you require. Your stating "send me some login data in pm"  is completely unactionable. What does that mean? Do you really mean login data or do you mean log data?

GlobalGoogler   I appreciate you are an active user here but your comments aren't needed in this thread. You haven't offered any value. If you would like to reread svens message it is not clear at all if he wants a log file or login access to my pc. Both are  very different propositions.

I have a very good grasp of the english language and the meaning of what has been typed. I thank you for thinking you need to point out what you thought had been typed but in fact I am very capable of interpreting what has actually been typed and any open ambiguities.
