Proxies turned off?

edited September 2012 in Need Help
Sorry for the dumb question but I'm still learning.

Is it possible I turned proxie scraping off and if I'm not running public proxies at least that could be the reason my server ip got banned? :)

  • Yes, I'd say definitely. Any SEO type of tool, whether it scrapes or posts frequently needs a mixture of proxies to work through to prevent spamming or scraping from the same address. If you're just scraping it's often just a matter of letting things rest for a while before trying again. If you're frequently posting from the same IP it's a sure way to get your IP blacklisted.

Google your servers IP address and see what comes out. ,
  • oh I know it got reported, server company already told me and gave me a new IP. I just have to figure out what happened.

I tried a few new techniques I read about here and set them up, got about 4,100 verified links in a few hours :)
