    You should be good with Pi, it's not using a browser. :)

    All GSA products do NOT use any browser in background. So you are safe not to use an anti virus program.

    When I use GSA SER I sometimes get virus notifications from my anti-virus.  I believe it id from websites that have been infected and SER is trying to post to them resulting in the notification.  Some of the previous alerts were for JS.Clicker and Blackhat Exploit.  I was running only blog comments at the time of these messages.  Maybe I can take a screen shot next time it appears if you would like to see it.

    Of course you will get such notifications because an anti virus program is usually monitoring the whole traffic. Once it sees some infected site in the traffic, it locates what application has made the request and will show a warning and refuse further access to that content.

    That however does not mean the program will infect your PC. It is just visiting the site, does the submission (or not) and will move on. No script or plugin is executed from that site.
