GSA SER Crashes On Start Up

Hello,
I had the program for about a week but now SER seems to be crashing as soon as I open it to run. I did a system restore to remove an unwanted program but i don't think it should have affected SER. Obviously there's some sort of problem now.
I've tried running it as admin, reinstalling the program, restarting the computer, and even removing my anti-virus software (didn't have a problem before the system restore but bleh, why not if it might help) and still nothing.
There's a pop up error screen from SER (not system) that pops up but disappears way too fast before I can grab a screenshot of it.
It's basically open > bam > close instantly
Not sure which version it is but i redownloaded it recently straight from the download page so whatever the default would be.
I'm out of options. Any ideas anyone?
