Sockerror

I am getting a lot of - sockerror: connection timed out. Is this due to my proxies? How do I fix this?

Thanks!

yes seems like a proxy issue.
  • All my proxies are private and testing OK in SER though. Does that mean my proxies arent that great of proxies? Im getting my 30 proxies from buyproxies dot org. Their proxies worked fine before. Any suggestions? Maybe just a bad batch?

can you open that site when opening it in browser (double click on such a log line)?

Sven, I'm sure that you know already when a user is using too many connections for his internet's speed, is the same message. The total bandwidth is slitted to the number of connections/threads and the speed of each connection might be too small and can't load the pages with a lot of content

    Not always;)

It can also mean banned/blocked proxies from the pool - and I also notice an increase of such issues.
Sometimes there are not much content of the sites, they have simply blocked/banned ip-ranges.

I have tested it, and can confirm that this is also an issue
  • you can try in firefox with one of the proxies to see if the page is loading, that will answer your question for sure.

of course, it can also get blocked or might be temporary blocked by us

because we aren't suspending our users like other providers when a complaints comes, we suspend some sites

I'm fully aware of how to test it - and I can confirm that some sites are simply blocking ip-ranges.

I hardly doubt you would block a site like this one:
    21:54:14: [-] 2071/8258 download failed (Return: -, SockError: Connection refused) - http://www.tntservicemo.com/?option=com_k2&view=itemlist&task=user&id=186

It has nothing to do with the tread ursage or the speed of the internet connection.
Here I asume that the site owner has blocked certain ip-ranges.
