does pingging eat up resources for link building?

I'm confused on the whole Pinging process that GSA goes through when the campaign is running?  Is there a way to stop this from running since I run all my links through instant link indexer or is it good to have the ping run.  I'm just thinking it is taking up resources and time that I could be using to build more links. Your opinions and help is greatly appreciated ahead of time. Oh, i'm getting about 23lpm on ron's list, but only have one website project running with a 3 tier structure. thanks.

    If you're using a 3rd party indexing service, you probably don't need the pinging enabled. I actually have mine off, I use a 3rd party indexing service too. 

    If you want to disable it, click the big options button on the main screen > indexing tab > uncheck "submit backlinks URLS to blog search engines".

    Thanks. That is exactly what I'm gong to do. It seems like a waste of resources and times with 3 rd party indexing services in place.
