Hundred of Thousands of Links Disappear after Update?

So... my first mistake was to update before backing up...but immediately after update my verified links dropped by over $200k on the counter. What? Does that happen often? I  re-verify almost every week per advice here from @ron and others so that I don't build tiers to dead links. so i am lost on this one. Any thoughts?

    right click on project->show urls->verified urls->right click->import verified urls->From Failed ReVerification
