form of imported link

when I import links into gsa ser , what's the difference between root urls and long links like www.example/example/info/ ?

Usually none. Just for engines not based on the whole domain it is different. E.g. a Guestbook is only usable if you have the direct URL to it, else it is not recognized as such and a root URL will not work here. But in most cases it would make no difference as the root URL from e.g. a Forum is also  recognized as any inner deep link.
