Subgroups

So I have a group in which there are six tier 1 projects, and one tier 2 project for every tier 1 project (therefore six tier 2 projects).

I want all the tier 2 projects to be in a separate subgroup within the original group.

So I selected all the tier 2 projects, clicked Move to Group and typed "Tier1GroupName|Tier2SubGroupName", but the projects still won't budge.
