Why don't the GSA SER Article Directories/Social Platform Blogs have much ranking power?

Why do you think GSA SER article sites/social network blogs/contextual links do not have that much ranking power? Is it because the sites load time is bad, the domain itself doesn't have much authority, the domains have been blacklisted, the sites are often in korean, the platforms are blacklisted?

Compared to web 2.0-s like wordpress, blogger, etc.

It's possibly a combination of the things you mentioned, but in many cases the domains won't have much authority and when SER users build 1000s of tier 2 links to the domains with low authority they basically kill them. The domain will have 0 trust at that point which makes them almost useless.

Web 2.0s have high domain authority, so you can spam it as much as you want and you won't be able to erode the trust.
  • You'll get much better results if you send your GSA contextuals to your high authority 2.0s. You'll also have much better control of your anchor text which is very important.
