Do All HTML Tags get Stripped in Non-HTML Article Submissions?

I'm starting to use html formated text, image tags, video tags, etc within my article submissions/Web 2.0s. Does ALL HTML get stripped when SER submits to non html compliant article directories/Web 2.0s?

I realize that <a href> tags do, but am unsure about the rest......
