"captcha failed" directive

Reading Manual, i see the "captcha failed".

Question:

1) If captcha retries are set to 2 retries , and "captcha failed" is NOT defined, will an "unknow submission status" generate some retries ?

2) If captcha retries are set to 2 retries , and "captcha failed" is NOT defined, will an "submission failed" generate some retries ?

3) If captcha retries are set to 2 retries , and "captcha failed" is defined but NOT triggered, will an "unknow submission status" generate some retries ?

4) If captcha retries are set to 2 retries , and "captcha failed" is defined but NOT triggered, will an "submission failed" generate some retries ?

When does retries occur ?

2) no as SER doesn't know what the cause of this failed submission was

It occurs only if the message in "captcha failed" is found on the submitted form result.
