Windows server 2012 or 2008 for faster performance

Thinking to rent a dedicated server for running GSA SER and Captcha breaker.
Which Windows are better for run these scripts faster? I will have 8-16GB of RAM.
Or maybe I can use Linux, because Windows licence will cost me additionally +14€

    Windows 2008 would be your best choice for GSA Ser

    Thank You for reply. May you tell me at least one benefit why? Also, does SSD drive give faster performance, or isn't it necessary?

    diablomm Windows 2012 eventhough is lighter and faster still buggy, also not all seo tools work on it, windows 2008 r2 much more stable, as far as we know everything works on it with no issue as well less problematic

    SSD will be faster for sure

    I run all of my servers on 2012 standard. Never have any trouble.
