When to use active(remove links)

Hi this option struck me as i am thinking to remove all links as possible to start a new start.. Coz ive been thinking that the website im promoting is now having too many spamming links all over the net..

If may i ask when to use this?
Will this affect my websites ranking?
Will i be able to build new links once i remove the links?
What is the best thing to do?

In most of the case i want to remove bad links.. How to do this too?

You click on Show verified URLs-> select all URLs you don't want and right click ->Turn Project Active and Remove selected Links

well. it does not answer my question @sven im asking if whats your best advice to keep your backlinks clean?
or the google net clean from your backlinks as i can see when i search my domain on the web it shows a lot of inactive site/forum with my backlinks. i want to remove them or remove low quality backlinks

- Of course if you remove enough links.

- Of course.

What is the best thing to do?

- Remove the bad ones if you have built any.

You'll need to identify the bad links yourself or using another tool. SER can't do this for you.
