Overrun with email verification requests

I just started running my first project yesterday. Since then, I have been overrun with emails about verifying my email address to sites and other registration type requests. I thought I selected the correct parts of the options to not be asked about such things, but I guess not. Does anyone know why I am getting all these emails and how to get them to stop - unless I'm actually supposed to be answering them.
Thanks

    Oh you used a regular email address for the project? You should use one that is only be used within SER. Else you might download emails supposed to be downloaded by SER and parsed by it to complete registrations.
  • Sven,
    What type of email address are you referring to? Should I create a yahoo email address and use that? How does SER "download" the emails?  How do I create an email address that SER knows it is supposed to be downloading emails from?

    @velsytetra - You want to make sure you don't use your own personal email otherwise it is going to get flooded with website registrations. The emails you enter in the software will be used for signing up on various websites so they should be considered "throw away" emails.

    You can also look on fiverr for emails or create them yourself, but if you're going to be using SER a lot and creating many projects, it's best to just buy emails in mass or use a good catchall.

  • s4nt0s,
    I read some of the info you provided, especially the catchall emails. But it is a paid service. If I am only doing one project at a time, would a free yahoo address do as well? Do I have to have multiple fake email addresses on a domain and a catch all for them for this to work correctly? Or is there some threat of getting blacklisted due to using the same email address?
    Thanks

    @velsytetra

    If you go to our site: www.serlists.com, and sign up for our SERTips newsletter, we will give you a bunch of free guides on how to set up SER. They should answer 99% of your questions.

    You need to use a whole bunch of emails - here's why:

    When SER finds a URL to post to, it can be used many times if you are running multiple projects and multiple tiers. If you only use 1 email address, the URL can only be used once. SER creates an account on the URL with an email address and password each time it tries to post. If SER tries to build an account with the same email address, the URL won't let it happen since an email address can only be used once to build an account.

    Think of it this way: if you personally went to a site like Yahoo and created an account using an email address, and you came back later, and tried to create an account using the same email address, what would happen? Yahoo would deny the request and respond with something like "Sorry, that e-mail address already has an account". SER posting to other sites works the same way.

    I would suggest buying 1000 email accounts, and using 10 of them for each of your projects.
