Question about what ip address is showing

Hi,

I am new and recently was able to do quite a few blog comments, and bookmarks. The
whole time I thought my proxies were helping me, but they weren't. Apparently the software
posted on a SEO guys page, and he was able to ultimately email my client! Yikes!

Turns out he wanted to offer his obviously better services.

But why couldn't I know what IP I am showing? Why not maybe add that as a feature?

So, my question is, if I have 10 private proxies, all fresh, new and checked to be good, what went wrong?
I did notice in the proxy section that under Submissions in settings, it would not hold a check mark.
I tried to click it for private, but it couldt hold it.Later I x'd out of the program and restarted later.
(I believe)

Then the Submissions allowed me to check the private box.

Do you think this is why I was showing the main ip inadvertently?
Is there any way to check what ip I am showing?
I know the ip from the proxy will not affect the IE interface, so I can't
go to a site to check my ip.

Can I check the ip so I am not worried?
Did the problem I just mentioned seem to make sense it would create this
situation of wrong ip showing?

Does the GSA use all the ip's randomly? or only one at a time?
It seems like if you use 10 proxies, you could make gsa use them all
at the same time in different threads? Why NOT? :)

Thanks for any comments and insights,

Mules

  • You posted a blog comment, it in was a link for you clients' site. The SEO opened the site and emailed your client. Isn't this what happened?
  • Yes,
This is what happened. But it is not itself a problem. The problem is my  VPS company will
ban me  for showing my true ip address when using GS/A.

So I am showing how a newbie can get in trouble easily because there is literally nothing that tells you
    important things like:

What ip am I showing now?  Am I showing my ip anywhere in using the GSA?
Are my captcha programs working correctly? Am I out of $$$?
Am I slowing my processes down by trying too many threads?
Is my link company doing its job? Pinger actually working?
Does gsa use more than 1 proxy at a time? If no why not?
Does GSA protect itself from web attacks, like viruses or malware? if no why not?
Do i need  ccleaner,  stop zilla, or anti virus for vps ?

The point was, I think I need a way to better know the status of gsa and vps.
    Thanks
