Automatic verification - when does it run?

When or how often does automatic verification run in GSA projects? Is it best to leave it at that? For recent projects I have changed it to every 30 minutes and it seems to run quite well like that...?

    it checks every 5 minutes if there is something to verify (each engine sets its own interval/timeout on verification).
