importing site lists

I used the identify platforms and sort in function on a huge list of urls and saved that list to a custom file. How do I import that file to use with a gsa project without having to sort through the whole list again (the list contains almost 1 million urls)? 
Also, when importing lists what exactly is the "use engine filter" option for?

    you can right click on the project->import target urls->from site lists

    engine filter: it will not try to detect certain types here.

    I saved the list to a custom file. Now I want to import that file to my global list but it's in .txt format. Do I need to use the "identify platform and sort in" option? The list has already been sorted and saved to a custom file.
    While I was waiting for an answer I already started importing the previously sorted list and noticed that there are already many thousands of "unknown" urls. Why are there so many unknown urls if the list only contains previously identified urls?

    Ahh OK, yes sorry you need to use sort in again as the format is one file for each engine.
