(New) E-Mail errors

They've recently started popping up and I have no idea why.

2014-05-07 19:55: E-Mail login error for username@web.de: +OK Bye (deleted: 0 / fetched: 47 / partialy fetched: 0)
2014-05-07 19:53: E-Mail login error for username@hotmail.com: Connection timed out
2014-05-07 19:52: E-Mail login error for username@googlemail.com: Connection timed out

I mean, I do get what Connection timed out means, but I seriously don't understand why. Too many threads + too few proxies maybe? My bandwidth doesn't seem too stressed (40-70% of max.).

I'll post a couple more of these errors, once I get them.

    @Sven Should I keep updating this thread, or is this something you're already aware of, or my fault, because of faulty settings?

    hmm update it, but usually all the errors are from the pop3 server itself. Not much I can influence here.

    Looks like it's mostly web.de and occasionally hotmail/gmail/smart-mail.
    I don't have any yahoo emails in my list, so I can't compare it to the other ones.

    If there's no solution to the problem can I at least cure the symptoms? Different email providers?

    edit: forgot to mention - I've enabled proxies for email checking globally, but it's not ticked within each project. Didn't know if this information is of any importance.

    I have the same issue, when testing the e-mails (hotmail) all fails as well when getting manualy to the email account i get a message that the account is blocked, i guess they improve spam filters?

    I've removed all my email accounts and replaced them with yahoo accounts (5-10 per project).
    Big thanks to @Satyr85 he just gave them to me for free, so I could do some testing. Thanks again, mate.

    It's too early to say, but it seems that yahoo is giving me a lot fewer errors.

    @Sven Are these kind of email errors something that has been around since SER release, or is it new? I'm just wondering, because I didn't read anything about these in the past. Then again, I am quite new to SER, so I could've easily missed it.

    UPDATE
    I have to correct my last post. The error messages for the yahoo emails have come from one particular project and this project only. In the last few days, this project has given me by far most of the error messages, so I decided to check the project settings again and here's what I've found

    I must've accidentally ticked this and I assume this is what has caused the majority of the errors.

    But still, I don't quite fully understand, because in my global options, I have the following settings.

    As you can see, using proxies for e-mail checking is enabled anyways.

    @Sven Do the project email checking settings override the global settings? Meaning, if I tick 'use proxies for email checking', but don't tick it within my project settings, will this automatically disable proxies for email checking?

    Both options have to be checked to use proxies for emails.

    Update
    All of my dummy spam projects were running 24/7 for the last ~3 days and not a single email error has occured. Yahoo emails + disabled proxies for email checking really did the trick. Maybe the other email providers will become available to SER again, but as of right now, Yahoo seems to be the only one working (for me at least) without problems.
