Importing URLs - filtering by engine

If we import URLs scraped outside of SER, I presume that we can still control which types of sites a particular project will post on by using the engine selection?

So that if, for example, I import a bunch of micro blog URLs in addition to articles. If I don't select the micro blog engine then it wouldn't try to post on those sites and instead just post on the articles sites?
