Version V2.14 problem

Since I installed V2.14 I get the follow pop-up box which I never had before.

Unable to bind webserver to interface 127.0.0.1:80

Maybe some other program is running and listening on that port.

Some common programs doing this are:

skype
apatche
W3SVC
ISS Service

Please close the programs and try to restart.

The only program I had running is skype. I closed this but still got the message. I never had this message before V2.14

Can someone help me to solve this problem.

Peter

  • Since updated to version 2.14 I get the following error whenever I open GSA CB:

    "Error modifying host file.
This is usually blocked by anti virus or firewall programs.
Please try to disable them for a short time and try again."

I tried disabling the antivirus (McAfee) but the problem remains.

    Please help. thanks.

You can ignore this if you use it only with SER but in general it's a block by some software on your system accessing that file.
  • Sven,

I am using CB with other applications as well other than GSA.

Have tried all the disabling of McAfee Antivirus/Firewall, Windows Firewall and Windows Defender many times there is no success.

Could you please point to me how to solve this issue.

Actually what kind of things Cb is writing to hosts file. Could I do it manually??
  • many weeks ago I had same error
    ""Error modifying host file."

    solution in my case
    1. run CB as admin
    2. disable the virus SW feature ( I have avira) that protects registry modification = just a few seconds when starting CB
enable that virus SW feature again

then all ok in my case
however I have no need to run as server, disabled that feature and run as regular SW app = hence no such problems about modifying host file
  • I am using McAfee, with Windlws 8 as OS.

Have tried disabling the firewall and anti virus scanning before starting CB in Admin mode, BUT NO SUCCESS.

I installed in another machine with Windows7 and there is no problem.

Don't know what to do next!

    Please help.
