Would getting a new PC benefit me that much?

Now that I'm beginning to use and run GSA SER more than ever, along with other IM programs, I got thinking about how my PC performs at the moment, it definitely is not a new pc at this point and quite bogged down. If I get a new pc it would be top of the line and really used for running IM stuff 24/7, but my question is how much better would GSA SER run on a pretty elite pc compared to this 4.5 year old one it's running on now?

It's hard to say because SER doesn't really require a high end computer. If your machine feels slow and bogged down then getting a new machine is probably going to make things run more efficiently, but I doubt you're going to get a huge increase in new links or anything like that.
  • You're better off buying a VPS.
  • vote for vps +1
  • Open up 'Resource Monitor' on your computer while SER is running. Take a look at the %age utilisation of your memory, CPU and network and see where the bottleneck is. If your network is hitting the maximum of your connection definitely get a VPS. If you're hitting 100% CPU on a sustained basis over a long period of time you may find a faster computer will help...

..but if neither your network nor CPU are being maxed out you'd be better off working on your SER configuration, building and scraping lists etc.

Of course there are other reasons to move SER to a seperate box - I find it very distracting watching numbers fly by, and I like having fast internet for the rest of the work I do online, so moving to a dedicated server freed up my mind as well as my desktop
